The splice to be used will be a hot vulcanized splice and not mechanical (Finger Splice Preferred). The new belt is approximately 1,100 feet long. The successful bidder will be responsible for moving the new belt from the JTEC 1 crane bay to the conveyor. City Utilities can load the belt onto a trailer for moving. The successful bidder will also be responsible for rolling up the old belt, leaving approximately 50 feet, and removing the remainder from City Utilities of Springfield property. Belt installation will be scheduled between deliveries of coal trains and the timing of the belt installation is critical. The plant will be in operation during installation and delays could limit plant output.
