A. The Contractor shall provide all necessary elements including labor at the prevailing wage rates, equipment, materials, tools, vehicles, and transportation required to move furniture, modular/systems furniture, filing cabinets, desks, chairs, and other standard office, classroom, and laboratory items; by a trained competent employee. Remove and dispose of existing floor covering products, including asbestos containing materials; replace damaged or defective sections of existing carpet and carpet tile; sub-floor / substrate preparation; and to install vinyl/composition tile, terrazzo and graniflex tile, carpet tile, carpet, wall base and edge strip moldings, and building entrance mats; each of which shall occur on a PER CALL/AS NEEDED basis, in accordance with the standards specified herein, in buildings under the jurisdiction of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. B. The work will be primarily limited to the Amherst Campus, however, the University reserves the right to require such work at facilities in Belchertown, Hadley, Newton and South Deerfield, which are under the jurisdiction of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Campus. C. Prior to commencing floor-covering projects which require asbestos abatement work, the Contractor shall remove furniture from such project sites, as scheduled by the University, within a time-frame which allows for said asbestos abatement work to be performed. D. The Contractor shall have a project supervisor, who is familiar with the respective project, on-site at the time of delivery of floor-covering products and at the start of and at various times throughout the performance of each project. E. All work shall be completed expeditiously, in a professional manner, in compliance with the schedules and time frames stated in the contract documents, and as directed by the University.
