Specifications include, but are not limited to: the continuation of an on-going project to remediate hazardous waste on a former radioactive disposal waste site. The project entails placing approximately 1,170,000 cubic feet of soil obtained from a newly planned hazardous waste trench number 13 and an alternative excavation site at the Republic Services Beatty facility onto the Beatty Low-Level Radioactive Waste Site (LLRWS). The excavated native soil would be rerouted from their intended stockpile location and placed as additional soils over the LLRWS soil cover. The additional soils, soil compaction, surface grading, QC testing, Topo surveys, and engineered evaporative cap will greatly improve the long-term stability of the Beatty LLRWS. The permanent trench monuments which identify the location of each radioactive trench will also be restored.
