All grades of materials must meet SAE specification J429. All diameters 1/4" through 7/16" are to be manufactured out of SAE 4037 type alloy steel. All diameters 1/2" and larger are to be manufactured out of SAE 8637 type alloy steel. Only a North American manufacturer will be considered; and successful bidder must be able to prove traceability. Any substitution or exception to these specifications will be cause for rejection of the bid proposal. Successful bidder must agree to random testing, and proof of manufacturer. The Town of Lexington’s Equipment Repair Facility utilizes a Gates® Power Crimp 707 for the fabrication of its hydraulic hoses. All hydraulic fittings and hose supplied, under this bid, are to be manufactured by Gates®. No substitutes will be allowed. Products must be available within 48 hours of order date
