1. Wicomico County Solid Waste is seeking pricing for hauling soil from the County borrow pit on Connelly Mill Road in Delmar, Maryland to the Newland Park Landfill (NPL) on Brick Kiln Road in Salisbury, Maryland. 2. Approximate loads per day (6-8 loads). 3. The round-trip distance is approximately fourteen (14) miles. 4. The County will provide the labor and equipment to load the hauling trucks using an excavator or front-end loaded. 5. County personnel will be onsite at both locations to coordinate loading and delivery. 6. The Successful Vendor(s) shall provide all other necessary labor, equipment, material, supervision, transportation and any services to perform material hauling (soil, etc.). 7. Hauling shall be accomplished utilizing tandem dump trucks with a minimum fifteen (15) cubic yard capacity. 8. Fifth wheel dump bed trailers shall not be permitted. 9. The Successful Vendor(s) shall be required to deliver an average daily volume of three hundred (300) cubic yards of soil from the Connelly Mill Borrow Pit to NPL. 10. Hours of operation shall be 7:30am – 3:00pm, Monday – Friday, excluding County recognized holidays and inclement weather days. Occasional hauling on Saturdays shall be required, the County shall provide three (3) days advanced notice when hauling on a Saturday is required. 11. Hauling may not be continuous daily due to weather, available space, and other factors, but will be continuous for 12 months a year. 12. All hauling equipment shall be road worthy, have a safely securing tailgate, and bed cover apparatus to insure hauled material does not come loose during transport. 13. Any spilled material shall be the responsibility of the Successful Vendor(s) to clean up. 14. The County reserves the right to refuse to utilize a truck based on its apparent condition, operability, or any other cause for concern regarding the equipment’s safe function. 15. The County reserves the right to refuse to utilize an equipment operator based on their apparent health, sobriety, demeanor, or other action (non-verbal or verbal) that the County deems unsafe or inappropriate. 16. The Successful Vendor(s) shall be responsible for maintaining load slips documenting the number of trips made. 17. Load slips shall be turned in to County personnel at the end of each day for records and payment processing. 18. Load slips shall document truck identification number, driver, date, pickup and delivery times for each load. 19. Payment to vendors shall be made based on the number of County verified deliveries. 20. Work will begin under this Contract will begin after bid is awarded and vendor information is filed.
