Hydro-Stripping and Recycling o Damage Assessment: Signs unsuitable for hydro-stripping due to excessive damage, as determined by the contractor, will be recycled. o Scrap Credit: Signs designated as scrap/recycle shall be paid back to the County, by a credit memo or invoice credit line (scrap credit) at a minimum of 50% of the current market rate and based on weight. o Return of Stripped Signs: The hydro-stripped signs must be dried before being palletized, banded, and wrapped. The County will have personnel available with a forklift to unload signs at a pre-arranged time; Hydro-Stripping Process o Water Pressure: Sheeting/face material from signs shall be hydro-stripped using a minimum of 40,000 psi water pressure. o Sticker and Graffiti Removal: The Contractor shall remove stickers and graffiti from the backs of the signs during the hydro-stripping process. o Minor Repairs: ▪ The Contractor shall remove small dings and dents, at the costs outlined in bid item #2. ▪ The Contractor shall contact the County if over 10% of the signs submitted for hydrostripping require ding and dent removal. o Integrity Testing: The successful bidder will ensure that the hydro-stripping process does not affect the integrity of the aluminum.
