TEFAP provides USDA Foods to eligible persons for home consumption. DCF receives USDA Foods from The Food and Nutrition Service and coordinates the delivery to thirteen TEFAP Areas across the state. The successful bidder will be required to accept and store multiple truckloads of USDA Foods several times per year. This RFP is accepting bids for three groupings. Group A) One bid for the Kansas City TEFAP Area (Johnson, Wyandotte & Leavenworth counties) the Topeka TEFAP Area (Jackson, Jefferson, & Shawnee counties) Lawrence TEFAP Area (Anderson, Coffey, Douglas, Franklin, Miami and Osage counties) and the Manhattan Area (Washington, Marshall, Nemaha, Clay, Riley, Pottawatomie, Wabaunsee counties). In Group A there are 42 participating distributing agencies. Group B) One bid for the TEFAP Wichita area that includes Sedgwick County and Winfield Area (Butler, Greenwood, Elk, Cowley, Chatauqua counties.) In Group B there are 38 participating distribution agencies Group C) One bid for the TEFAP Hiawatha area that includes Atchison County, Brown County and Doniphan County. In Group C there are 5 participating distribution agencies.
