SCDNR is looking to treat approximately 60 acres of aquatic habitat with floating vegetation at Quarterman Reserve and Rice Hope Lake on Bonneau Ferry Wildlife Management Area in Cordesville, SC, Herbicide treatment will be applied primarily by drone (with occasional touch-up by air boat expected) bi-annually (twice a year) for the next three years, as determined by the area manager. Beginning in late summer 2024, treatment windows will be in late September-October and May. The 3-year term begins with the September-October treatment of 2024 and ends with the May treatment of 2027. SCDNR anticipates 80% of the spraying will be conducted by aerial drone and 20% by airboat. Much of the spraying is appropriate for drone application but some of the edge work will likely require boat (airboat) application to minimize damage to non-target trees and other plants. Contractor will provide all equipment and labor needed for treatment. SCDNR will provide the herbicide prescription and herbicides. Prescriptions will generally be using the prescriptions indicated below, though subject to change according to conditions. Contractor will be responsible for follow up treatment of missed spots, boat trails, or other areas where poor kill is achieved during initial treatment.
