The proposed renovations for this project may include: • Updating and remodeling interior and exterior of existing buildings; • Redesign of current interior exhibit spaces identified as Artville and the Main Exhibit Hall; • Redesign existing first-floor classrooms and storage space and second-floor offices; • Exposing and reinforcing existing roof trusses within the Main Exhibit Hall (currently the Hub and Whiteman Galleries); • Permanent and semi-permanent artistic exhibit features and elements; • Indoor climbing structures and skywalk; • Addition of a roof top terrace; • Redesign existing Atrium and other outdoor spaces; • Parking lot, frontage and site improvements. The scope may also include: Procurement of an exhibit design subconsultant through a selection-based panel. Selection would include input from the City of Mesa Engineering staff and Museum staff. It is anticipated the exhibit design firm will assist in the artistic design of the permanent and semi-permanent exhibit features and elements, such as the indoor climbing structure and skywalk. They may provide other artistic and interactive design elements throughout the renovated spaces. Construction of this project is anticipated to begin in late 2025. City may include other miscellaneous improvements at the Site, as needed.
