Make: Haas Model: VF-4SS WITH SIMULATOR Description: Super-Speed CNC Vertical Machining Center with 50" x 20" x 25" (1270 x 508 x 635 mm) travels The Haas VF4 series CNC mills is a state-of-the-art system for CNC machining. It is designed by Haas and the system allows compatibility with MSU’s CAM system and expertise. Haas CNC controllers are widely implemented in education and its technical service department is widely available. The capabilities mentioned below are the industry standard for CNC machining. Most educational laboratories purchase HAAS equipment due to their large market share in industry. This allows students to be familiar with how to control a HAAS machine which is most likely what they will find in industry. Our machine shop currently only has HAAS equipment, which makes for a stream-line process of introducing this equipment to our students as well as consistency within the laboratories. This also allows this piece of equipment to seamlessly integrate into our servers to work alongside the other HAAS equipment. The equipment necessary should have all the following characteristics: 55-Gallon (208 liter) Coolant Tank with 1 hp (0.75 kW) pump Early Power-Failure Detection Ethernet Interface Rigid Tapping High-Speed Side-Mount Tool Changer, CT 40 taper, with 30+ tools 15,000-rpm Spindle at 30hp Through Spindle Coolant, 1000psi Wireless Probing Capabilities Chip Management / Auger High-Pressure Flood Coolant and Programmable Coolant Nozzle 32GB + Memory Remote Jog Handle
