The properties for sale site location are located on the 100 block of southeast Williamsburg Street and consists of three parcels (102, 114, and 118 Williamsburg St SE, TPN 121-06-09-001, 121-06-09-002, 121-10-02-001). The parcels are across from the Aiken County Farmer’s Market and located in one of Aiken’s older neighborhoods. A review of historical information revealed that the site and adjoining properties have consisted of residential dwellings, offices, oil companies, automobile repair shops and service stations, filling stations, warehouses for cotton and oil, and city stables since at least 1899. Adjoining properties have consisted of cotton gins, stables, warehouses, offices, filling stations, grocery stores, residential dwellings, and a farmer’s market. The project site has been abandoned for many years and would likely qualify for tax credits under the SC Abandoned Buildings Revitalization Act. Currently, there are four (4) dilapidated structures on the site, one or more of which may have the potential for adaptive re-use that should be fully evaluated and addressed in any proposal.
