Caliber: 9mm Cartridges: All chamber and barrel dimensional specifications and pressure limitations shall conform to the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturer’s Institute (SAAMI) http://saami.org/ recommended standards. Capable of firing 9 mm projectiles with a range of 88 to 147 grain weight rounds. Pistol Characteristics: Trigger: The trigger pull weight shall not be less than 3 pounds and not exceed a maximum of 6 pounds. Trigger Mechanism Type: The trigger mechanism shall have double-action only type operation. There shall be three automatic independently-operating mechanical safeties built into the fire control system of the pistol. All three safeties disengage sequentially as the trigger is pulled and automatically re-engage when the trigger is released. Hammer: No external hammer allowed. Manual External Slide Lock Lever: The slide lock lever shall lock the slide in the rear position upon firing the last round. Using the slide lock lever, it shall be possible for the shooter to manually lock the slide to the rear. It shall be possible to release the slide from the locked position with the lever. Manual External Safety Lever: None permitted on the slide or frame, however, a safety, which is disengaged by finger pressure on the trigger, is allowed. De-Cocking or Cocking Lever: None permitted. Grip Safety: None permitted. Magazine Disconnect: None permitted. The weapon shall fire with magazine removed. Firing Pin/Striker Block: The pistol shall have a mechanism that shall prevent it from firing without activation of the trigger. Optics ready slide: The pistol shall come equipped to secure pistol mounted optics utilizing direct mount optics and/or adaptor plates. Accessory rail: The frame shall be equipped with an accessory rail forward of the trigger guard for mounting of common weapon lights. Sights/Optics: Optic: Optic shall be low profile, rugged use, fully enclosed with sealed optical channel. Optic shall be submersible to at least 100 feet. Optic shall have a battery life of more than 3 years with normal use, and battery replacement which does not affect zero of the optic. The optic shall have flush mounted zeroing controls and illumination buttons readily accessible on body of optic. Red dot size shall be at least 2 MOA but no larger than 4 MOA. Mounting: Optic shall be mounted to pistol and torqued to specifications prior to delivery via direct attachment rather than mounting plates/adaptors. Backup Iron Sights: Backup sights shall be mounted to pistol prior to delivery. Shall be constructed of case-hardened materials for durability. Front sight will be serrated for glare reduction and offer a 1/3 lower co-witness profile. Grips: Handguns shall provide adjustable grips to accommodate various hand sizes. The external front strap, rear strap, and sides of the grip shall provide a non-slip surface on the area of hand contact with the pistol during firing. Magazines: Handguns shall be provided with three high-capacity magazines: GLOCK 47: 3- 17 Round Magazine Shall lock positively in the magazine well. Shall be constructed of material which is rust and corrosion resistant. The magazine body shall have “witness holes” which permit viewing of the number of rounds in a full or partially loaded magazine.
