The County intends to contract with multiple contractors to provide towing, identify vehicle ownership, and secure storage until vehicle is picked-up. In cases where an owner cannot be located or is unwilling to retrieve vehicle, services will include extended storage, title transfer, demolition possibly including hazardous material abatement, and disposal. 2.1. Towing and Removal Acknowledge request for towing services within 24 hours of receiving call M-F 8-5. Accept or pass on request within 24 hours of notification. Respond to vehicle site within 48 hours of accepting request. o Within 25-mile radius of tow company’s nearest tow yard (1.00 billable hr. for specific tow equipment) o Over 26-mile radius of tow company’s nearest tow yard (2.00 billable hr. for specific tow equipment) Prepare vehicle to be removed. o Vehicle road worthy and can be safely towed once driveline is disconnected. (.5 billable hr. for specific tow equipment) o Vehicle can be safely towed with some preparation. Examples include missing components such as siding or tires, or additional debris present. (1.0 billable hr. for specific tow equipment) o Vehicle or object removal has additional challenges such as unique location. County must pre-approve including an additional special circumstances charges. o Vehicle or object cannot be towed from site (see 3.4 below)
