Pierce County will select a qualified consultant and issue a Professional Service Agreement contract based upon qualifications received. The selected firm will develop flood inundation mapping products that will assist the County with planning and communicating flood risks to natural resources managers and various audiences. The project will develop static incremental flood inundation maps, using tools and resources such as but not limited to, ESRI GIS, United States Geological Survey (USGS) flow data, Hydrologic Engineering Center’s River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) modeling software. Implementation will be informed by the most up-to-date guidance documents. Of these resources can include FEMA, United States Army Corps of Engineers, USGS, National Weather Service, United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) and others.
