The prospective material source is an ODOT-controlled/BLM-owned existing cinder pit known as Grassy Butte Cinder Pit and is located in the SE¼ of Section 19, T. 20 S., R. 19 E., W.M., in Deschutes County. This site is located approximately 4.6 miles east of Brothers, OR. Access to the site is at MP 47.31 of the Central Oregon Highway (US20) via turning north onto an unnamed cinder gravel surfaced haul road and continuing north 2.6 miles to the pit floor. ODOT controls by appropriation a total of 40 acres at the site that are also covered by the DOGAMI Operating Permit.
