• Two – 1-million-gallon storage water tanks: Quail Ridge, Williamsburg. • The city has a little over 120 miles of water mains. 5400 water meters and approximately 600 fire hydrants. • Water line sizes range from ¾” to 12”. • 80% of all water leaks are service line leaks. • 20% of the water leaks are main line leaks working with cast iron. • The city does water taps up to 2”. • Fire hydrants are flushed twice a year for water quality. • The Fire Department does flow test once a year for ISO purposes. • The City of Franklin’s Wastewater Collection System has over 103 miles of sewer line. These sewer lines range from 6” to 36”. Our sewer lines are made of clay, ductile iron, and PVC. The deepest sewer line is 25’ deep. We also have 1700 manholes, which are made of brick or concrete.
