Jefferson County Parks is looking for proposals from trail design-build teams that are qualified to provide design, construction, supervision, materials, and equipment for construction of approximately ¼ mile of re-routed single-track hiking trail that flows throughout the landscape allowing hikers to connect with nature, experience the glacial landscape, and learn about the Native American burial mounds and the people who built them. The trail will need to be bench cut with the final trail width will be 48” across. Selected contractor will review preliminary trail design and adjust where appropriate, with the intent of: • Mitigating erosion • Avoiding damage to oak tree roots • Lesson environmental impacts • Increase user experience • Design sustainable and purpose-built trails, and • Work with and provide training to Park staff The selected contractor will be expected to design sustainable and purpose-built trails. Contractor will be expected to utilize IMBA Trail Standards throughout the entire build.
