The scope of work shall include a review of current Metro Parks Tacoma signage and wayfinding. The scope shall also include a review of best practices for addressing readability and public safety through signage and wayfinding. The plan should enhance ways to identify Metro Parks Tacoma places and inform, regulate, protect and educate users. Incorporating Metro Parks Tacoma’s recently updated visual identity, the guidelines must include typography, size, placement, installation, colors and materials. Attention should be given to: • Ability to accommodate the park district’s growth and change over the next 20 years. • Thoughtful interface with the City of Tacoma’s signage and wayfinding system. • Manageable costs (design, fabrication and installation estimates). • Ease of manufacture and availability. • Use of Metro Parks Tacoma logos and other branding guidelines. • A signage hierarchy/style guide, including fabrication specifications, that are easily implemented over a long period of time. Within the Metro Parks Tacoma signage and wayfinding system, the following categories, at a minimum, should be included: • Park entrances • Buildings • Interpretive: history, art, cultural, natural areas • Regulatory • Donors, sponsors and adopters • Wayfinding • Identification: plants, art • Temporary: events, closures • Wayfinding Deliverables shall include a detailed signage and wayfinding plan with standards and guidelines, including: • Prioritized implementation recommendations. • Description and graphic rendering of each type of recommended sign and wayfinding element, including material, dimensions, fonts, graphics, installation details, probable manufacturers and costs, and other relevant information. • Fabrication drawings for each type of sign
