Specifications include, but are not limited to: a professional engineering and design firm to provide one or all services related to: a) The planning and design of a multi-modal pedestrian bridge, including environmental assessment following HUD Environmental Review process; The City envisions this project not only to serve as safe access, but also as part of a larger “gateway” project that enhances access and usability of Lytle St. as a vital transportation connector. Use of the constructed pedestrian/bicycle safe access points through these funds will be leveraged with the development of additional community amenities such as a parklet on the corner of Broad and Lytle St. The parklet will be developed with greenspace along the pathway that will be equipped with benches, planters, tables, shade structures, art, native plants, environmentally friendly greenscaping, and other amenities. b) HUD compliance monitoring to meet federal funding requirements for the design and construction phase of the project.
