2.1.1 The contractor shall provide forest stand improvement services for the Department in accordance with the provisions and requirements stated herein and to the sole satisfaction of the Department. 2.1.2 Under the direction of the Regional Resource Management Supervisor or their designee, the contractor shall provide forest stand improvement services as awarded for the Department on Ranacker Conservation Area, located in Pike County, MO. 2.1.3 The contractor shall understand and agree that because the contractor was encouraged to inspect the locations and the conditions that existed prior to award of the contract, the contractor shall not be relieved of the performance of the provisions and requirements specified herein. 2.1.4 Unless otherwise specified herein, the contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, materials, labor, supervision, and supplies (including chemicals) necessary to perform the services herein. 2.1.5 The contractor shall agree that children or juveniles will not be allowed to accompany the contractor or contractor’s employees on the job site. 2.1.6 The contractor shall remove all papers, cans, bottles, and other refuse created by contractor staff from the area each day. 2.1.7 The contractor shall not dump or dispose of any oil, hydraulic fluid, other petroleum products or litter on the Department’s property. 2.1.8 The contractor shall take immediate and independent action to prevent and suppress fires caused by the contractor in or near the work area. 2.1.9 Public and established roads and parking lots accessible by standard pickup or car provide access to the project area during the normal operating season. All vehicles used by the contractor, including ATV’s, are to stay on established roadways unless a Special Use Permit is issued by the Department to utilize existing service roads and trails. A special use permit will be issued by the Department to access stands via any fields during dry conditions only. Individual stands are accessible by foot. 2.1.10 The contractor shall not construct any trails without the consent of the Regional Resource Management Supervisor or their designee.
