A. Corrosion and depositing control of all equipment and lines is expected. Periodic descaling with inhibitor acids will not be considered as meeting the specification should such inhibitor acids be necessary. B. Chemicals used in the water treatment shall have no detrimental effects on the metallic or nonmetallic materials in the systems being treated. C. It is expected that when the recommended water treatment program is followed, (as evidenced by operating and service reports) that should corrosion, deposition or scaling, or damage to equipment occur under these conditions, the successful bidder will be responsible for the cost of materials and labor to correct and repair the equipment. D. The successful bidder shall have certificate of product liability insurance executed in favor of the School District stipulating areas, types and amount of coverage. E. Each chemical supplied shall be labeled to identify it properly. F. The School District will not accept the responsibility for loss due to improper container. G. All chemicals and treatment must meet the requirements of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency. H. The successful bidder must certify that the chemicals recommended for the water treatment program will not endanger the health or safety of persons coming into contact with the materials and will not damage personal or real property as long as instructions followed. An OSHA material safety data sheet shall be submitted for each chemical recommended. The MSDS sheets shall be both hard copy and in electronic form. I. Contractor shall supply an analysis for each system at least monthly. The analysis shall be performed by a qualified water service technician. Contractor shall also provide certified laboratory reports when requested by the district to maintain proper water treatment. J. Successful contractor will be responsible for administering all chemical treatments. K. Successful contractor will be responsible for supplying, installing and maintaining feed equipment to facilitate automatic feed and bleed off control. L. A service call shall be made at least once per month by a qualified full time service person (other than the local sales representative). The purpose of the call will be for analyzing all factors of the water treatment chemical control, making required adjustments, and issuing a written report of all findings and corrective actions required. All emergency calls shall be answered within twelve (12) hours with follow-up within twenty-four (24) hours. The service person (other than the local sales representative) shall wear a uniform or identification badge with the company name in clear view. If the service person has to enter a student area of the school building they must first check in at the school office.
