The project includes the following tasks: 1. Site Assessment and Survey: o Conduct a thorough assessment of the existing smoke detectors at the following federal sites: Harborview Residential Apartments: 115 Scranton Ave, Falmouth, MA 02540 - 80 units. FHA Administrative Office: 115 Scranton Ave, Falmouth, MA 02540 - approximately 12 offices. Tataket Apartments: 138 Teaticket Hwy, Teaticket, MA 02536 - 83 units. Rose Morin Apartments: 58 Rose Morin Lane, Falmouth, MA 02540 - 10 buildings, 60 units. o Each site includes common areas, basements, storage rooms, etc. Refer to the provided plans for layouts. o Identify all smoke detectors that require replacement and ensure the new detectors meet current building codes and standards. 2. Removal of Existing Smoke Detectors: o Safely remove the existing smoke detectors from the specified locations. o Ensure the proper disposal of old smoke detectors in accordance with environmental regulations. 3. Purchase and Installation of Combo Smoke Detectors: o Supply and install new combo smoke detectors (smoke and carbon monoxide) that comply with relevant building codes. Contact the Town of Falmouth's Building Department for this information, if necessary. o Ensure that the installation is carried out in a manner that minimizes disruption to the daily operations of the sites. o Quotes must include all electrical and other work required for the removal of existing units and installation of new combo detectors. o The FHA will reimburse the selected vendor for permit fees required to perform this work from the Town of Falmouth. 4. Testing and Certification: o Test the newly installed combo smoke detectors to ensure they are fully operational. o Provide certification that the installation meets all applicable codes and standards. o A copy of the certifications for each site demonstrating compliance with applicable codes and standards must be provided to the Town of Falmouth's Fire Department. 5. Documentation: o Provide detailed documentation, including site maps, location of installed detectors, and maintenance guidelines. o Submit a final report upon project completion, including all testing results and compliance certifications. 6. Emergency Pull Cords Replacement: o Existing emergency pull cords in each apartment unit: Some are active, and some have been taken out of service at the request of the household. These will need to be replaced to ensure proper functionality with the new combo units. Please include a separate line item in your bid for the costs to remove existing, purchase and install new emergency pull cord stations that work with the selected Co2 combo units/system. This cost will be paid from a separate funding source as part of this project.
