The duration of this contract shall be during the growing season (April through December of each year). Town properties are as follows: Town Hall, Community Center, Police Station, Kimball House, Family Mediation, Fire Station/Town Garage Complex, Dow Common, Woodlock Park Baseball Fields, Tennis Courts, Woodlock Park Soccer Fields, Collins Park and Common Areas. Approximate square footage of 653,000 feet. The quality of workmanship will be to the acceptance and satisfaction of the Public Works Director, who will supervise all work hereunder. The work schedule shall begin the first full week of April and proceed through to the end of December, with a fall clean-up occurring in November (weather permitting). Before the first mowing, all debris, leaves, and trash that accumulated over the winter shall be picked up and legally disposed of. This shall include complete trash and litter clean-up of all fences, pavement, lawn, and planting areas at each of the locations. This work shall be considered part of the General Care of Grounds Activities (see below). Mowing is to take place once a week. At the time of cutting, mower blades shall be adjusted to achieve a finished cut height of 3 ½ inches. During playing seasons the grass will be cut on the fields to a height of 2 ½ inches. Scheduling work on the baseball and soccer fields must be coordinated with the Public Works Director. Contractor shall be allowed to dump lawn clippings and all other debris at the Town Brush & Recycle Center (located at Woodlock Park) only. During Spring and Fall clean up times the contractor may dispose of leaves in the woods as long as it is not visible.
