Provide security guard service personnel at predetermined locations and positions, Thursday through Saturday (except home football games) between the hours of 6:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. or until the final passenger has alighted from the bus routes for the dates as noted in Appendix 1. The hours and dates as noted in Appendix 1 are estimates and are not guaranteed. Staffing needs may be reduced based on operational and University needs. The supplier should plan for operations to last past 3:30 a.m., when operational needs and ridership demands dictate the need for extended hours. Security personnel shall be in uniform, unarmed, be trained in security and traffic control techniques, customer service and expected to be able to stand and walk for prolong periods of time. Security personnel are required to report at the times designated by LSU PTS and work until released by LSU PTS or a designated representative (e.g. LSU Police Department (LSUPD)) as communicated to the supplier’s supervision prior to or during the assignment. It shall be the supplier’s responsibility to provide replacement and relief personnel on security assignments Duties and responsibilities for assignments may vary depending on the needs of LSU PTS and the overall operations of the University. The Supplier's duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to: verifying passenger’s credentials and affiliation, riding transit buses to various locations on and off campus, giving instructions and directions to transit passengers and other community members, managing access to secured positions and buses, blocking and restricting traffic in parking lots, on intra-campus streets and roadways, requesting assistance from emergency services (e.g. police, fire, EMS, etc.), using portable radios to communicate with other supplier personnel and university staff, creating a secure and safe environment for transit passengers and community members, and any other duties deemed necessary by LSU PTS to adequately manage and maintain a safe experience for transit passengers and the community.
