The intent of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit Proposals from qualified, experienced, financially sound, and responsible consulting firms to assist the university with ongoing needs related to its electronic safety and security systems controlled by the University of Kentucky Police Department. The university currently maintains a central security system that includes electronic access control, panic alarms, lockdown, security video management, emergency notification towers, intrusion systems, and a one-card solution as defined by the university’s Division 087100 - Access Control and Door Hardware and 280000 Security Systems design standards. UK’s intent is to establish consulting services with security professionals who are capable of advising university decision-makers and project managers by performing security site assessments, construction design reviews, reviews of current and emerging security technology, and designing project documents for unit-price, capital construction projects, and reviewing and commissioning projects with electronic safety and security components. This consulting will be utilized on an as-needed basis throughout the university’s enterprise (academic and healthcare). The successful Offeror(s) will provide the most qualified individuals in their respective fields with the skills necessary to complete projects in a timely, professional, and cost-effective manner.
