Beginning in the fall of 2024, the City will again be funding for the hauling and processing of Scrap Tires from participating Neighborhood Associations in conjunction with Omaha’s Spring and Fall Clean Up Programs. Depending upon the availability and costs of contractor equipment, the Public Works Department will be coordinating the effort with the following goals: ● One designated Scrap Tire collection site per 4 Saturday over 4 weeks during the fall ● Begin collection events at 9:00 AM ● Tire hauler/processor for scrap tires at that select site for each of the 4 Saturdays. ● Place all equipment necessary to remove all Scrap Tires from select site each collection day ● Haulers submit to the City a copy of scale tickets with collection site location noted The City intends and expects to make a single award of this contract. It is the intent of this contract that the successful bidder, hereinafter "Contractor,” shall provide all labor, services, and equipment necessary to collect and transport acceptable materials from assigned sites to a Scrap Tire processing facility and assure that tires go to an approved end use. Processed tires cannot go to Nebraska blow-out projects or cannot be used for tire-derived fuel.
