A. Description and Location of Area - Services shall be provided on Thorny Cypress and Tumbleweed Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Thorny Cypress WMA is in Dyer County, near Dyersburg, Tennessee. The Early Successional sites on Thorny Cy press WMA consist of approximately 131 acres in size. Tumbleweed WMA is in Lake County, near Ridgely, Tennessee. The Early S successional s sites on Tumbleweed WMA consist of approximately 176 acres in size. These areas shall be cut and mulched with various types of skid steer machines with drum mulching heads, to cut and mulch woody vegetation ion 12" DBH (Diameter at Breast Height) and below. Acreage figures are approximate and TWRA shall not be responsible for any discrepancies with actual acreage. TWRA is seeking bids of dollars per acre to mulch the properties listed above with acreage of up to 307 acres total. Site visits are available upon request by contacting the on-site supervisor listed below. Site visits shall be complete before ITB end date. 1. Time: Contractor shall complete all mulching activities no later than October 25, 2024. 2. Protection: The contractor shall remove all bottles, cans, paper, and other litter from the work area daily. 3. The contractor shall have experience Mulching in tracts of 25 acres or more, using Various types of Skid steers with Drum mulching heads and provide references for a minimum of three Governmental Agencies and/or Non-Governmental Organizations (foundations, non-profits, etc.) for which this type of mulching work has been performed. B. Woody Vegetation Mulching 1. Species: Cottonwood trees, Sweet Gum trees, Willow trees, Hackberry trees (Everything except Oak species) 2. These areas are early successional habitat areas that are being taken over by saplings and small trees. These sapling trees are mostly composed of the species listed above and range in size from ½"' in diameter to roughly 12" in diameter at breast height (DBH). Stem density will vary widely from 4" apart to a few feet apart each site will be different. Tree height will range anywhere from 5 feet to 30 feet high. 3. The OPS coordinates for the Tumbleweed site staging area are (36.1982 1° N, 89.52988°W) C. Grinding and Mulching 1. All woody vegetation (Trees and Saplings Except for Oak Species) shall be Cut and Mulched thoroughly. 2. The contractor shall have a Drum mulcher style head for their cutting machine, no bush hog type cutters will be considered for this project. 3. The Contractor's machine shall have at least a minimum HP requirement of 74 HP and be equipped with a High Flow Hydraulic system to run the Drum mulching head. 4. Contract or' s machine shall be equipped with forestry shields to protect the operator. 5. The contractor shall be required to cut all Woody Vegetation except for oak species and trees with a DBH greater than 12 inches and grind up debris thoroughly. 6. The contractor shall need a means of transportation for their machine to move around on the WMA's. The acreage for this project is not in one continuous block it is scattered throughout the two WMA's; some areas are a few miles apart. The total Acreage for this project is estimated to be 307 acres. 7. TWRA reserves the right to lessen the acreage based on price per acre or quality of work. 8. The Contractor shall be required to maintain their equipment in a safe, well-maintained, good working condition on. 9. Once starting this project Contractor shall stay on site until the completion of this project. 10. All equipment shall be removed from the project upon completion.
