Because this is an emergency response office and due to the grade of the lot, it is important that the parking lot be kept plowed and sanded. The bid should reflect the cost to plow whenever two or more inches of snow have fallen in Newport. A final cleanup is required when the storm is over or whenever called. The lot should be sanded whenever it is slippery, after a storm, between storms or whenever called. Plowing operations should happen during non-business hours whenever possible when the lot is emptiest and overnight storms should be cleaned up before the start of the business day. Business hours for the facility are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Plowing during the day when it is snowing may be required to allow traffic in and out of the lot. Due to the shape of the lot, snow will need to be loaded out and removed as required.
