The Special Health Services Unit, Newborn Screening and Follow-up program is seeking a Newborn Screening Long-term Follow-up (NBS LTFU) Consultant to provide support regarding the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)-24-052 Cooperative Newborn Screening System Priorities Program (NBS Co-Propel) Grant. The State Newborn Screening and Follow-up program is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide the following: Assist with the implementation of the Newborn Screening project to meet the goals of the HRSA-24-052 Grant. Serve as the SME and provide technical assistance in family and provider engagement, training, education, content design, implementation, quality improvement, and evaluation as it pertains to newborn screening in North Dakota. Assist in identification and evaluation of gaps in current Newborn Screening education and delivery methods for expectant/new parents and delivery provider. Assist in the development of an educational plan targeting expectant parents to decrease the number of newborn screening refusals in the state. Assist in the development and dissemination of North Dakota produced Newborn Screening educational resources, to include condition specific materials. Attend routine virtual team meetings and in person meetings, as needed. The contractor must have a background in genetics and at least 10 years of experience in working with newborn screening.
