- A new depot building expanding passenger indoor waiting area, and improved operational flow. - Improvements to the baggage handling services. - A new raised platform (or raising the grade of the entire depot lot) to provide level boarding. o A raised platform would need to be wide enough to drive vehicles and equipment onto. o The ramp and driving area of the platform would need to be segregated from passenger access areas. o Raised platform would need to conform to all ADA requirements - Address issues with building foundations, piles, posts, and everything buried relating to frostheaving. There are currently many visible issues with frost-heaving with the current structures at the depot. - A gauntlet track, and a siding track which allows through-traffic while a train is at the depot. - New and improved landscaping, conforming to the requirements of the adjacent park facilities including color palettes, native species for plants, etc. - Expanded paved areas and redesigned parking. - Mitigation of interruptions to active passenger and freight service during construction. - Maintaining, replacing, or raising (in the case of total lot raised elevation) of all facilities at the depot. - Green building methods and potential LEED certification of individual facilities. - Value Engineering options to reduce cost of elements of the work while still meeting functional intent, (i.e., using different methods of design, materials, construction methods, etc.).
