The Town of Atkinson is seeking proposals to construct approximately 2,500 linear feet of Universally Accessible trails in the Slade Town Forest, located off Route 121 in Atkinson. This work will be under the administration of the Atkinson Conservation Commission. All materials will be purchased by the Town – this proposal will be for construction services only. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, upgrading the current rough trails to a 6-foot wide, fully compliant hardpack surface suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. This will be the second construction phase, connecting to 1,100 linear feet of trail completed in 2023 Phase 1. Contractors must use small, low ground pressure equipment and be able to work within a 7-10’ wide corridor without damaging the large trees that define this forest. The qualified contractor must meet the insurance requirements for the Town of Atkinson and submit proof of insurance for worker’s compensation and general liability coverage. The Town of Atkinson must also be listed as additionally insured.
