The project will include the demolition and removal of 99 Founders/20 Hartland, the 323 Pitkin Street garage and specific associated site features. Proposers should assume the following: 1. The entire buildings, including foundations, will be removed and legally disposed of. To the greatest extent possible exported materials will be recycled. 2. Site features will be demolished and Town utilities will be terminated at the property lines and abandoned per Town regulations. 3. Excavations from foundation removals will be backfilled with clean fill. 4. Hazardous material abatement will be included in the demolition scope of work and specifications will be provided by a separate consultant. The selected firm will be responsible for the following services for the demolition of 99 Founders and the 323 Pitkin Street garage: 1. Prepare final Site Surface Demolition Plan describing the removal of the existing site surface features adjacent to the buildings being demolished. Surface demolition includes pavement, curbing, retaining walls, site lighting, sidewalks, fencing, site stairs, signs, mechanical equipment, dumpster pads and bollards. Such plan shall seek to minimize the proposed limits of site surface demolition and to maintain existing drainage patterns. 2. Prepare final Site Utility Demolition Plan showing the existing building services to be removed or abandoned per the respective utility company requirements. Such plan shall show existing site lighting, utility poles and wires and sewers to be demolished or maintained. Such plan should assume that the appropriate utility companies will remove the any existing transformers, tenant metering, utility poles and overhead wires. 3. Prepare final Site Restoration/Soil Erosion Control Plan. Such plan shall show the proposed grading and turf establishment surface treatment of the demolished area including construction entrances, silt fence and hay bale barriers as required. 4. Prepare final Site Surface and Utility Details for pavement repair, site fencing, and utility service cut-offs per the respective utility company details. 5. Prepare architectural plans of the existing buildings to the extent necessary to indicate assumed subsurface conditions that will be removed as part of the demolition process. 6. Attendance at up to two (2) meetings in person or via video conference with the Town and developer. 7. Provide technical specifications for the site engineering work covered in the scope of work. 8. Provide division one technical specifications furnished by the Town and edited specific to this bid. 9. In accordance with the Town of East Hartford’s demolition requirements, prepare the following: a. Demolition notice posted on property b. Demolition application (to the extent possible prior to contractor selection) c. Notices to adjacent property owners d. Utility shutoff coordination, including submitting letters to the applicable utility companies.
