I. Introduction The items outlined in this RFP form a basis for the services required to develop the Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) Master Plan. The master plan will engage all relevant departments at MTSU and should address physical needs in the context of student retention and success. The master plan will support and be consistent with MTSU’s Strategic Plan and will specifically describe how the master plan will implement those goals. Additionally, the master plan will link the university’s strategic plan, facilities planning, and capital appropriations requests. Improvements since the 2016 Master Plan Update Subsequent to the MTSU 2016 Campus Master Plan, various projects have been completed and others are in progress that will have a significant impact on the campus. These include: • Davis/Wiser-Patten Renovations and Connector o Work carried out as part of the New Science Building Project • Natatorium Demolition • Academic Classroom Building o Project included north expansion of the East Quad • Kirksey Old Main Renovation o Current Project– Renovations to KOM and Rutledge Hall project currently in construction o In lieu of new building, Math and Computer Science departments to be located in renovated Kirksey Old Main (KOM) Building – Renovations to KOM and Rutledge Hall project currently in construction o Rutledge Hall renovation in scope of work with use changed from student housing to be the new home of University Studies o Midgett Building demolition carried out in project scope of work. • Math and Computer Science Building o In lieu of new building, Math and Computer Science departments to be located in renovated Kirksey Old Main (KOM) Building – Renovations to KOM and Rutledge Hall project currently in construction • Concrete Industry Management / Construction Management o Completed new project – School of Concrete and Construction Management (SCCM) o Project included Demolition of Abernathy and Ezell Hall o Project included Satellite Chiller Plant addition to increase chilled water capacity • Outdoor Tennis Facility • Parking Services Building o Project included MTSU Fleet Operations Center • Engineering Technology Building o Project Applied Engineering Building currently in construction. o Scope includes demolition of Voorhies Engineering Technology Building (VET) o Along with the School of Concrete and Construction Management (SCCM) project, will further develop the south end of the East Quad. East Quad area directly north of the SCCM remains unrenovated. • Football Operations / South Stadium Expansion o Current project Student Athlete Performance Center in construction at North end of Stadium o South Stadium Expansion not in scope of work
