1. Initial Ground School o A minimum of 24 hours of factory approved/authorized training covering aircraft systems description and operation, operational characteristics, operating limitations, and performance planning. o Training location shall also include life size mockups of a Bell 429 which provides visual and hands on description and explanation of aircraft components and parts. 2. Initial Flight Training o A minimum of 6 hours of factory approved/authorized flight training which provides the instruction in normal and emergency procedures. Emergency procedures training shall include hydraulicsoff landings, power recovery autorotations, anti-torque system failures, single engine operations, and FADEC/ECU procedures. o All flight training will be performed in a Bell 429 and include both day and night flights and elevated platform landings. Night flights will be conducted with Night Vision Goggles, both aided and unaided and include night power recovery autorotations. o A minimum of 5 hours of FAA approved FTD specifically designed to replicate a Bell 429 cockpit and instrumentation. Training shall include normal and emergency procedures and inadvertent flight into IMC. 3. Recurrent/Annual Ground School o A minimum of 12 hours of factory approved/authorized training covering aircraft systems description and operation, operational characteristics, operating limitations, and performance planning. o Training location shall also include life size mockups of a Bell 429 which provides visual and hands on description and explanation of aircraft components and parts.
