9. Debris The supplier shall: a. Remove and dispose of debris collected during the cleaning. b. Comply with all applicable state and local laws and ordinances related to the hauling, handling, and disposal of materials. c. Clean the work site daily of all debris, nails, et cetera. d. Clean the entire area “sweep” it with a magnet to remove nails on ground (at the end of the project). e. Remove all roofing debris and nails from the gutters. The supplier shall: a. Remove all of the old shingles and the old roof felt down to the existing decking. There will be no additional charge to KCDC for any additional layers of shingles at tear off. b. Sweep the decking completely and then replace any defective decking. KCDC is to be notified prior to any decking replacement to verify the need. c. Install manufacturer approved and recommended underlayment to the entire roof area attaching as per the manufacturer’s recommendations. d. Install shingles as specified, using a minimum of four nails per shingle. All installation shall be as per manufacturer’s recommendations. Staples are not allowed. e. Allow 1½ to 2 inches openings at the ridge to provide ventilation. f. Replace all existing ridge vents. g. Install shingles over ridge vents as per the manufacturer’s recommendations...
