REPLACE AIR HANDLING UNITS S-2 AND S-5 MORRIS UNIVERSITY CENTER; The project scope includes but is not limited to: 1. Demolition of existing air handling units, adjacent ductwork, chilled water piping, heating water piping, electrical and existing pneumatic and electronic controls. 2. Installation of new air handling units, adjacent ductwork, new chilled water piping and control valves, new heating water piping and control valves, new electrical and VFDs and new DDC controls. 3. Air handling unit S-1 located in the same mechanical room as S-2 and S-5 shall remain operational throughout the project. Both units S-2 and S-5 can be demolished at the same time. 4. Both units have flexible duct connectors that contain asbestos. Abatement will be performed by a third party outside this project. The contractor shall coordinate the timing of their demolition with the abatement contractor. 5. Demolition of existing air handling units cannot begin until new air handling units have been received by the contractor. 6. Sequence of construction shall be coordinated with MUC staff. If the Alternate Bid is accepted, each unit shall be replaced sequentially and not in parallel. 7. Demolition work shall not begin prior to September 15, 2025.
