The project scope involves replacing the existing Air Operations Area (AOA) perimeter fencing at OGG, MKK, and LNY airports to prevent wildlife from entering the airfield. Wildlife, including mammals, pose a significant risk to taxiing, landing, or departing aircraft, potentially causing severe damage to both aircraft and human life. The new fencing will comply with FAA and TSA requirements. Other ancillary work may involve the replacement of access control and security systems, video monitoring, electrical, signage, and other appurtenances that may be currently mounted on the fence. Hazardous materials may be encountered on the fence itself or within the ground where the fence posts are secured to. Updates to the Airport Security Plan (ASP) may also be required. The estimated design services cost is $3,500,000.00.
