5.2 Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) 5.2.1 The Department will specify the type needed: Class S 4000 PSI Concrete Class B 2500 PSI Concrete 5.2.2 Portland Cement Concrete shall keep its consistency per the Specifications, as needed for each requesting location. 5.2.3 The Department may request for the Contractor to utilize chemical admixture to achieve high early strength. When an accelerator is requested, concrete shall achieve required compressive strength within eight (8) hours of concrete pour. 5.3 Admixtures and Additives 5.3.1 Admixtures and additives shall conform to the requirements of ADOT Standard Specifications, Section 1006-2.04 (A). 5.3.2 All admixtures and additives shall be listed on the Approved Products List under 1006 – Portland Cement Concrete Admixtures. Refer to the following link: https://azdot.gov/sites/default/files/2024-06/approved-products-list-June-2024.pdf 5.3.3 At the request of the Department, the Contractor shall provide colored additives to restore the original color of decorative pavement. 5.4 Slurry 5.4.1 Two-sack slurry shall meet the requirements of ADOT Standard Specifications, Section 501- 3.02(A)(1). The aggregate, cement, and water mixture shall be thoroughly mixed in a mixer or at a central batch plant as approved by the Department and shall have a slump of eight to 11 inches. 5.5 Excess Material 5.5.1 The Department may designate a cleanout location and may provide portable containers for the trucks to wash out excess material. Once wash-out material is hard, the Department will provide disposal of material as directed by the District Environmental Coordinator. 5.5.2 If a cleanout location is not required, the Department may require the Contractor to take excess material back to their plant.
