The County project includes sidewalk improvements along the eastern side of Spring Ridge Parkway from MD Route 144 intersection with Spring Ridge Parkway to connect existing curb ramp and sidewalk facilities approximately 800 feet to the north. The project starts at MD Route 144 (Southern project limit) and extends to the Exxon/Tiger Mart Convenience Store at 6067 Spring Ridge Pkwy, Frederick, MD 21701 (Northern Project Limit) and project’s proposed features will primarily provide a parallel concrete sidewalk along the existing legal right-of-way and roadway frontage area along with the previously acquired and established 25-foot perpetual/permanent easement of the County for a new pedestrian pathway connection. Work includes upgrading the existing drainage system and adding a small segment of new curb & gutter to the existing eastern roadway edge of Spring Ridge Parkway where the sidewalk is directly adjacent to the road. All pedestrian facilities within the project limits are designed to the maximum extent feasible and in accordance with the latest ADA guidelines. Stormwater management facilities will include regrading the existing swale to provide a three-foot bottom width ditch and also the construction of one Filterra Bioretention System unit as determined acceptable by DPP plan approvals.
