Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) is soliciting a Request for Technical Information (RFI) from qualified contractors, for a Student Transportation Software Solution for Bus Routing to include, but not limited to, provision of the stated system solution, user training, maintenance and required support for the initial set up, implementation and continued maintenance within AACPS. The goal is to acquire a software solution that will be configured to provide the full range of Transportation Bus Route Creation and Management in an accurate and timely fashion. The software system’s functionality as required by the fifth largest school district in the state must use proven stateof-the-art technology and best practices and will provide the ability to record, monitor, report, and retain information associated with the District’s transportation of students to and from school. A data migration of the current STARTS and STOPS systems is an important requirement of this RFP and should be outlined in the Respondent’s proposed solution. Through the implementation of a new integrated routing system, AACPS’s Transportation Division should be able to: • Dramatically improve the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations. • Reduce and eliminate paperwork, manual processes and excessive data entry. • Achieve balance between the need to protect confidential information and the need to provide services to its students. • Provide timely, accurate and relevant data, as well as “easy-to-use” reporting tools for decisionmakers at all levels. • Reduce the amount of staff time required for all users by obtaining a consistent user interface and operating procedures across all functional components. • Be able to run scenarios and develop options for routing optimization, stop optimization, school start and ending time optimization, and fleet size optimization.
