Blended (thickened primary and thickened waste activated) sewage sludge is anaerobically digested in a Primary Digester Tank and then stored in a Secondary Digester Tank. The blended digested sludge stored in the Secondary Digester is dewatered through two belt filter presses. Dewatered sludge discharge from the belt filter presses range 16% to 22% oven dried cake solids (ODS) with an average of 18% ODS. The anticipated dewatered sludge volume is 14 wet tons/day when the WPCD is dewatering 5 days/week. The WPCD has a container bay located in the Dewatering Building (one 12’ x 12’ overhead door, one 12’ wide x 25’ long bay, and one 30-yard roll-off container will be used for dewatered cake sludge hauling). The container will be filled via a dedicated new overhead conveyor that will be centered down the entire length of roll-off container. This conveyor will be installed and operational prior to the execution of a contract. Pick up days and times will be coordinated between the Town and the Proposer for disposal at Synagro per the terms and conditions of the Town and Synagro’s existing disposal agreement, expiring December 31, 2025.
