Duties and responsibilities will include: Developing Pilot Curriculum • A comprehensive overview of online sports betting and online fantasy sports to pilot in 3 – 5 communities in the 2024 – 2025 school year. • Discussion of the risks associated with these activities, especially for young people that includes an examination of the psychological and neurological effects of online sports betting. • Content on how online sports betting can impact mental health, with a focus on addiction and compulsive behaviors. • Education on financial responsibility and the potential financial consequences of online sports betting. • Provide tools and strategies for identifying misleading or manipulative content and understanding the tactics used in advertising to influence behavior, and how to critically evaluate online sports betting advertisements and related media. Deployment of Training • In collaboration with AGO staff, develop rollout plan for 3-5 communities in the 2024-2025 school year. • Coordinate with AGO staff on communication with the selected communities, and other stakeholders to ensure participation and venue availability. • Identify and deploy qualified trainers with experience in youth engagement and knowledge of online sports betting risks. • Ensure availability and distribution of training materials to all participants. • Manage logistics for training tools and resources, including any technical supplies needed...
