Specifications include, but are not limited to: Collection and Disposal of Refuse and Collection, Transportation, Processing, and Marketing of Recyclables 1a. Flat-rate fee for up to ten (“10-item”) refuse and/or recycling containers per customer The Contractor would be responsible for the collection and disposal of all refuse and recyclable materials placed curbside (or at other approved location) in appropriate containers and/or appropriately prepared (as described in Section II.) on a weekly schedule. Currently, the residential collection schedule is Monday through Friday. 1b. Curbside collection of residential food scraps for composting The City would like to consider offering residential customers the option of diverting food scrap products from being disposed in a sanitary landfill. The food scraps are to be processed into compost at a facility licensed by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. The Contractor shall be responsible as described in 1a. (above) of these specifications. If the Contractor requires a specific container for curbside food scraps collection (up to 15 gallons per residential account weekly), its cost shall be covered by the Contractor.
