The City requires a secure database management system that encompasses the following: 1. Data warehouse, subject area data marts, and data segregation capabilities. 2. An enterprise extract, transform, load (ETL) architecture that can support highvolume imports of multiple data files in multiple formats at rapid speeds. 3. A Web-based Information Delivery Portal (Business Intelligence / Business Analytics (BI/BA) tools, data visualization, dashboards, etc.) to query, report on, and data mine the data warehouse contents to create meaning out of the vast collection of data. 4. An enterprise SOA application integration layer (Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)) that provides a self-service architecture to support web access to raw data marts, data exchange data structures, generated queries, and higher-level standard reports based on the data held in the data warehouse (via web services XMLbased SOAP or REST type transactions). 5.
