Correction of Pavement Distress (Weathered Surface) A weathered surface that is dry but has little or no raveling will generally require only a seal coat treatment. • Clean Surface. • Apply a seal coat of approximately 0.10 gallon per square yard of water-diluted emulsion. • A slurry seal may be required if it is necessary to fill slightly pitted areas in the surface. b. Sealer should be applied in two (2) coats at .08 to .10 per coat 2. Striping Specifications: • Marking of pavement including surface preparation on bituminous or concrete surface. The markings shall be applied by machine methods acceptable to the owner. Products: 1. Ready – mix Traffic Marking Paint: A. White as shown on drawings. B. Alkyd resin, Type F traffic paint. C. Drying time – 3 to 5 minutes when heated to application temperature. D. Application temperature – 120 to 130 degrees F. E. Conform to AASHTO M – 248, Type I, II, or III. F. Traffic Paint to be Sherwin Williams Setfast Zone Marking Paint or Equivalent
