Laboratory must be approved by EPA to Support PFAS Analyses under UCMR5 and be certified for analysis of PFAS in drinking water by the State of Hawaii. Lithium testing will not be required. The Project tests allotment is as follows: 75 sample tests per EPA Method 533. 10 sample tests per EPA Method 533 for confirmation purposes at customer direction. 10 blank test per EPA Method 533 if associated sample was detected greater than the MRL. The laboratory shall provide notice, to the State project manager, of any PFAS detection in the initial screening sample within 48 hours of testing. A positive result will trigger a second “confirmation” sample to be taken from the sample allotment dedicated for confirmation testing. The notification to the State shall be made via e-mail to the State Project Manager.
