Dorset Commons is made up of 105 two- and three-bedroom apartments in eleven buildings. This will be an occupied rehab, the work being on both the exterior and interior of the buildings as well site improvements. Scope to include but not limited to: Interior- improving the building envelope, replacing heating and hot water systems, replacement of flooring and cabinetry, painting, smoke/CO detection, lighting upgrades, bathroom and kitchen updates. Exterior- roof replacements, siding and trim repair and replacement, new stormwater management facilities, lighting upgrades, new trash enclosures and mailbox pedestals, and tree removal. The goal of the redevelopment is to modernize existing housing units and make them more energy efficient which will provide increased resident comfort and reduced energy consumption. Pending funding approval, CHT intends to bid the work in fall/winter 2025 and start construction in early 2026.
