The proposed project includes site preparation and removal of large/hazardous trees and stumps, removal of medium sized trees and stumps, and removal of all brush, blackberry bushes, or local flora. Also, removal of floor-level hazardous debris like dead leaves and disposal or dispersal of all wooded debris. The project area consists of two separate sites and runs approximately 75 acres along the Bear Creek corridor. Activities will be implemented while adhering to local Forestry standards, including the use of harvesters, masticators, and chainsaws to clear the project area. A licensed, accredited, fairly procured contractor will be hired to complete the clearing. Because the project is funded with FEMA funds, there are environmental compliance conditions that must be met.
