Specifications include, but are not limited to: Objectives • Understand the deep connection between Student Work Analysis (SWA) and Lesson Preparation and why it is critical to the High-Quality Instructional Material (HQIM) Cycle of Improvement. o Address the mindset that SWA is “one more thing,” but explain that it must be paired with lesson preparation to get the full impact of the intellectual preparation cycle. o Internalize what SWA is and what it isn’t • Solidify communication among school leaders, educators, and instructional support personnel about how lesson preparation and SWA are interconnected. • Develop an initial plan to integrate student work analysis into the preparation cycle and ensure that general education and all instructional personnel (e.g., special educator, paraprofessional, English Second Language (ESL) educator, interventionist, etc.) participate in a collaborative SWA and lesson preparation process with a focus on addressing various scheduling models to address limitations of collaboration among multiple instructional personnel.
