PBA is seeking proposals for armed security guard services for the Public Safety Complex. The scope of work will include providing security at the checkpoint entrance to the complex. PBA is needing one armed guard for these duties. In addition to one armed guard, the firm is to also provide 1-2 backups in the event the primary guard is not available. The primary and backup guards will need to pass a TBI background check and drug screening prior to being on property. 2.1.1 Scheduled shift will Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. 2.1.2 Holidays, weekends, and after hours will be disclosed in advance should coverage be needed. 2.1.3 At no time or under any circumstances should the security guard attempt to apprehend, detain, and/or arrest a lawbreaker. 2.1.4 In the event of the primary guard not reporting for work or reporting for work late, the firm will provide a pre-approved, equally qualified guard within one (1) hour of that individual’s starting time. 2.1.5 The security guard will be expected to operate the package x-ray machine located at the checkpoint. 2.1.6 The security guard will be expected to carry a mobile phone (provided by proposing firm or personal), on their person at all times during their scheduled duty hours. No personal cell phone usage is permitted during the scheduled duty hours. 2.1.7 Upon the start of each shift, a radio will be issued to the security guard for check in and must be returned at the end of each shift. 2.1.8 The security guard will be expected to where a firm issued uniform equipped with company identification. Upon successful background and drug screening, PBA will issue an access badge. 2.1.9 Armed security is permitted to carry a 9 mm handgun only. 2.1.10 PBA will provide free parking for this property
